COVID-19 testing has gotten more challenging as the number of cases has increased, resulting in lengthier wait times.

On Monday morning, the line for COVID testing outside of Lake Forest City Hall was at least two hours long. The queue snaked its way through the parking lot and around the building’s front.

“I was taken aback. “I expected it to go rapidly, but it moved slowly,” said Jane Bayer, a Lake Forest resident.

Bayer had an appointment for testing and wanted to be sure she wasn’t infected with COVID after experiencing cold symptoms the week before.

“I was planning on having lunch with my elderly parents this week, and I’m not sure whether I had the flu last week, just slight symptoms,” Bayer said. “I had a number of additional get-togethers planned, and I simply wanted to make sure I didn’t expose anybody.”

As the number of Omicron instances rises, so does the need for testing.

“Well, in my place of business, we have a lot of cases.” I work in the retail industry. “I simply wanted to be on the safe side,” said Lake Forest homeowner Rana Baharmand. “I’m not experiencing any symptoms, but I had the day off and figured I’d come in.”

Sky9 flew over various testing locations in the southland on Monday morning and observed vehicles packed with people waiting for their samples. A white tent served as the staging area at White Memorial Hospital in Boyle Heights.

Meanwhile, automobiles piled up in a huge queue at Dodger Stadium. A serpentine of automobiles looped around the upper level of the Kaiser Permanente parking structure in Baldwin Park, where further COVID testing was available.

Patients queued for over a mile outside of a Kaiser location on La Palma Avenue in Anaheim around lunchtime to go to the drive-through testing. Boxes of free home exams are being distributed at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. People may have these shipped to their houses if they so want.

“We want to ensure that no one comes to work unwell.” They don’t miss school because they’re unwell. “School has resumed,” stated Katrina Foley, Orange County Supervisor.

Dr. Margaret Bredehoft of the Orange County Health Care Agency says that although quick test supplies are limited throughout the country, PCR testing are available with results in one to two days if you plan ahead.

“There’s a national scarcity, and if you need them, you’ll have to pay for them,” Dr. Bredehoft said.

MORE NEWS: Before returning to the classrooms, LAUSD will need negative COVID-19 tests.

This might cost anything from $150 to $200. Residents of Orange County may learn more about free at-home test kits that offer results in a day or two by visiting the Orange County Health Care Agency’s website.
